When We Are Closed

The out-of-hours service is provided by GoToDoc Ltd. You can access them by calling NHS 111 (see below). The out-of-hours service is provided from 18:30 each evening until 08:00 the following working day and also operates at weekends and on all bank/ public holidays.

For many problems telephone advice may be all that is needed, but if it is decided that you need to see a doctor then you will be asked to attend the GP On Call Centre at Town Lane, Southport or Phillips Lane, Formby. Home visits are only for those who are too ill to travel.

Please leave all non-urgent calls until the surgery is open again during the normal working hours.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
