Repeat Dispensing

Certain repeat medications might be suitable for Repeat Dispensing. This is an authorisation from a GP to your pharmacist, to provide a regular prescription over a pre-defined period of time (usually six or twelve months). The pharmacsist would then be responsible for issuing your medication regularly during this time period, without the need for recurrent prescriptions from your GP. It is designed for medication that requires minimal monitoring or dose adjustment, and is therefore not suitable for everyone.

Your GP may ask whether you would be happy to convert repeat prescriptions to this service. If you are receiving prescriptions through this method, it is vital that any monitoring tests or reviews are carried out in the month before your birthday, to enable efficient continuation of prescriptions in a timely manner.

If you would like to be considered for repeat dispensing, please talk to reception or your pharmacist.
